22. A Love Letter to Malaysia
By Lisa Chew
I love Malaysia because Malaysia never fails to celebrate its Merdeka day every year at 31 August where I get to see beautiful fireworks, and this year we are celebrating our 50+1 years together with my brother’s wedding (hehe). I love Malaysia for having beautiful beaches like Langkawi and Redang. And last but not least, I love Malaysia because we have many famous politic figures, sports figures and celebrity figures that are famous not only in Malaysia but internationally as well, such as Pak Lah, Michelle Yeoh (she looks very pretty in The Mummy), Nicol David, Lee Chong Wei and a few more lah.

23. Malaysia Is Malaysia
By Hamizaton, Singapore.
Both my late parents came from Malaysia and they stucked here after Singapore and Malysia separated. Without fail during my childhood days our school holidays destination is Malaysian…Penang, Kedah, Perak, Pahang, Kuala Lumpur and Melaka. What I loves about Malaysia is the kampung house…atap and zinc, the “unique” toilet than I visited, the hanging of laundry at the yard, the chicken and goat running around, the atmosphere, the grenery (coconut tree every where) the food along the road, the community in the kampung (gotong-royong), bathing at the sungei and the friendly people of Malaysia.
I felt as though I am one of the Malaysian kid back than when I spent my holidays there. Some of my older relatives still do stays in kampung houses but slightly “modified”. Now, during school holidays its my turn bringing my children back to Malaysia, to re-live my memory and for them to experinced. Well, the younger generation now don’t know how to appreciate the old era. But they are curious and always ask why we cannot see this and that in Singapore like the buffolo on the road side and the non -tar road along the kampung, coconut trees everwhere, puller food seller along the road and chicken as “pet”. Well, I will answer, that’s is the UNIQUE OF MALAYSIA!!Modern in one way but still preserved the old for the legacy. I may not be a Malaysian but part of me still loves Malaysia like my home because 99% of my family tree are from Malysian. If they do not exist I may not be here!!
Thank you Malaysia for being unique in every way culture, religion and people.

By Christopher Lay
I know the moment I wake up, I could feel the warmth of the sun rays beating against my face. I could feel the sultry beams with my eyelids closed and the daybreak breeze caressing my face making me rather slothful. Not many places in this world lets you enjoy such privileges.
